HOW

I STARTED YOGA

I steped into yoga practice quite by chance. There was yoga studio at the end of my street in New Farm, out of curiosity I went to a single class. I felt good, I enjoyed it, I went again. And again. And again.

driven by the desire for a personalized and durable accessory. The satisfaction of creating something with my own body sparked an unexpected passion.

Hello 🙂 I'm Cathy

I teach Iyengar Yoga classes in Brisbane.

My approach to teaching Yoga is light and open, I will encourage you to move, learn and explore.

Iyengar yoga is known for its detailed and exacting instructions. They are an important part of the Iyengar method of teaching, as they help us to hold the mind and body in the moment, and encourage development of a finer sensitivity and energetic connection to practice. Foremost is learning to practice with self-awareness, and adjusting the practice of Yoga to suit your individual needs.

WHY

I KEEP PRACTICING

Because it still feels good! And so much more.

Moving with ease feels good, it makes everthing I do easier.

WHY

Yoga helps us make the most of our body—our most valuable "clothing"—by improving its function rather than just maintaining it.

Instead of simply wearing it out over time, yoga teaches us to use it wisely for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

"The body is the most expensive clothing of the self.

We have to spend a lot of money for its maintenance, particularly in old age.

We don't take cognizance of how much we spend on this body.

Today, the world spends a lot of money on the clothing, the designing, the material - sometimes one must audit.

How much we spend on the cloth which is our body, the material and the cloth that we wear.

This is an enormous expense.

It uses much of our energy, much of our resources, much of our wealth, much of our money. The longer we live, the costlier it becomes. The cost of maintenance exponentially increases as you age.

The body as the cloth material of our self does not cost much in our prime age, young age but becomes very expensive as we become older.
Lots of money is spent on medicine and treatment. So, the clothing of our self is expensive and the clothing of our body is also expensive.

Then, why not improve its usages.
Let us use it well rather than just spending.

Yoga teaches us to use this natural body - the physical body, the mental body, the psycho-mental body.

Otherwise, we are merely using it until it is worn out and throw it away."
