Hello 🙂 I'm Cathy

I am a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher and a dedicated student of Iyengar Yoga.

 

I truly enjoy helping students connect to the practice — watching how strength, calm, balance, confidence and curiosity develops — Yoga has been such a positive influence in my life, paying it forward is a pleasure.

I’ve studied with some of the world’s most respected Iyengar teachers — including Simon Marrocco, Faeq and Corine Biria, and Stephanie Quirk , locally with Jamie Denham— and I am currently continuing my study with Abhijata Iyengar.

My classes are taught following the Iyengar method.

A little Yoga inspiration.

Yoga helps us make the most of our body—our most valuable "clothing"—by improving its function rather than just maintaining it. 

Instead of simply wearing it out over time, yoga teaches us to use it wisely for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

HOW

I STARTED YOGA

I steped into yoga practice quite by chance. There was yoga studio at the end of my street in New Farm, out of curiosity I went to a single class.

It felt good, I enjoyed it, I went again. And again. And again......

WHY

I KEEP PRACTICING

Because it still feels good! Such a simple answer! But it is truly at the heart of it. I do believe the practice has improved my life - I cope with stress better - I know that doing anything well requires work and perserverience - I have a way better attitude towards all the difficult and hard things that come my way - I am less attached to outcomes, more of a process person now.

Plus moving with ease just  feels good, it makes everthing I do simpler.

It is not just that I enjoy helping students connect to the practice. I learn so much teaching!
